Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is having a phenomenal run in theatres. However, on December 18, the film saw a drastic drop in collection in theatres. Though the decline is expected on a Monday (December 18), it also indicates that the film is nearing the end of its theatrical run. This week, on December 21 and December 22, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ and Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ will take over.
'ANIMAL' Sees Massive Decline In Collection
‘Animal’ released in theatres on December 1 in multiple languages. The film received polarising reactions from critics and audiences alike.
On December 18, the film completed 18 days in theatres and saw the biggest drop in collection. Compared to Sunday’s (December 17) collection (Rs 15 crore in India), ‘Animal’ is estimated to have earned Rs 5.50 crore net at the domestic box office. From Thursday (December 21), majority of the theatres will be allotted to ‘Dunki’ and ‘Salaar’.
The makers of ‘Animal’ informed on December 17 that the film raked in Rs 835.9 crore worldwide.
The 18-day total collection in India now stands at Rs 517.94 crore. On December 18, the film had an occupancy of 12.18 per cent in India.

‘Animal’ has been written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, the film also featuredAnil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, and Siddhanth Karnik amongst others in pivotal roles. The film is about the tumultuous relationship between a father and son. Ranbir played the role of Ranvijay, who is a ruthless man consumed by vengeance.
